You could probably work out a handover with your boss which sees you finish earlier.
Even if your head is not there they still ask you specific things to keep things going.
Remember they work both ways.
If the company wanted to let you go would you accept them saying 'you finish today and your notice period is not enforceable so go and sing for your next 3 months wages' ?
