Motor Insurance for a 17yr old

Hi guys,

Can anyone sugest an Insurance company for a 17yr old driver who has just passed his test.
My nephew has a Fiat Punto which he saved up to buy but he is getting quotes of £2000.. now I know he's in the very high risk bracket but is there any thing he can do to get cheaper quotes or any Companies he should be trying, although he has already tried about a dozen or so..

It seems a shame that after getting him to work and save up for a car he has to wait another year or two befor he has saved up enough to insure it!!

Any help would be gratefull.

£2000 is reasonable mate, thats what I was looking at paying at that age.

Try admiral with an adult on the policy, preferably clean license and 45+ worked out better for me.

Just add a female as a named driver.

£2000 sounds good. The best way to get it as low as you can is to find the cheapest you can find, then do your pass plus (saved me £400) and add an older relative as a named driver. There's nothing much else you can do, unless you have a business in which you can add him to fleet insurance.
