No, I've not protected my chassis with Ronseal but I did buy a can of this stuff at a car show/autojumble.
The theory is it is freezing cold and the rust shrinks and cracks as its cooled. Last week was trying to get the lower seat belt bolts out (actually on the Chim but exactly same set up as an S)the inner two creaked a bit but felt like they would shear while the outer two wouldn't budge at all. Somewhat sceptically I gave the first one a generous squirt of this stuff an low and behold out it came "sweet as a nut" as did the other three.
I was impressed
Not quite worked out how to rotate the photo !
