Has anyone used and can recommend a good engine specialists to strip and rebuild a Small Block 383 ? Nothing too exotic the engine makes about 400bhp. I plan to drop the engine out and deliver it for the work to be carried out. I am in Suffolk so specialists in the south east would be best.

Nick.

X 2 for Pete Knight.

No Bull

Top quality work

Dyno on site

Great customer service (a real added bonus in my book)

If you're not close by I believe he can arrange pick up and delivery for next to nothing in the UK.

Our very own 738 driver(Dave) imo ...... yep i know he is my mate but he is very very good if not then Tim Adams but its moving into silly season with his race engines!!
Ask DHGTR if his engine is any good, 738 built that and he knows what works in a midengine V8 car.

Thanks,

The leads are really helpful. I'll spend some time talking to the individuals / companies to see where I go from here. I just need to resist the temptation to up the SBC engine spec, all I need is a rebuild right now. When funds allow the plan is to get an LS into the car.

There are a few around who have replaced SBCs with LS so there may be some used SBCs knocking about.

Charles Dunn for me- As Crazy mentioned he has been working on these for years and most probably rebuilt more ultima engines than anybody else.
