A bit pricy for a salvage or what ..

Keep looking at this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1846762.htm but I'm a bit surprised at the price!
It's got no V5 or history of any kind. It's not particularly young (1998) and it looks like there'd be a fair bit to do to get it road worthy again. The only thing that it HAS got going for it is the mileage .. and there's no way to prove that either.
What do you guys reckon? And .. no .. I'm not seriously considering getting it .. I was just interested in other peoples opinions.

Low mileage is not necessarily such a good thing on these engines. They like to be used.

It will take many many thousands to repair evenif you have the skills to do it yourself, Generally they are cheaper to buy straight.
The low miles means nowt with a cerb.

Thanks for the offer Mat but I was just interested in why it's up for so much.
I wouldn't go and look at one unless it had some history (this one has none) but the more info I can gather about all the ones I see for sale the better off I'll be when I find the right one.
In other words .. I'm seeing what goes for what now to be ready for actively hunting for mine when the time comes (prob during the winter)
I will be looking for one that's already sorted but having done a few restore/custom jobs (other makes) in the past I would also look for salvage ones.

Ok,Good look with the hunting but as gazzab said from a financial point of view your best looking for a straight one (belive me i know!)
