Street racing is more popular in the US, maybe its because young people can actually afford to insure something fast.

Also moderately popular in south africa where we have traffic lights instead of roundabouts.
I used to occasionally race people from the lights but not overly often as a lot of the time the people wanting to race me werent worth the hassle/risk.
