Later style trim fixings

I noticed that the Tuscan II Convertible used some sort of hex socket fastening instead of pop rivets. Anyone know what they are called and where you can get them?

If they were in metal I'd call them hank nuts if that helps.

Are they the shape of a star?

If so they are torx screws

Oh just to add I have no idea if the above is the correct size for the fittings, just used it as an example of a torx screw

They could be, it's not so much the screw (although they do look nice) it's how they anchor the fittings into the fibreglass.

probily good old WOOD SCREWS std on TVRs throught the range, although the Russians advanced more on there TVRs than the British so may have used self tapping screws...

Which fittings do they try to hold together ?

The trim around the roof on the Tuscan II 'vert. I saw them at Chatsworth and they looked much neater than pop rivets.

You mean the stainless countersunk allen key headed bolts that bolt the rear canvas screen part to the body ?

No idea what they are called , but I have bought them from local "Screw" place ...AllThread in Preston. As I'm gradually replacing every nut,bolt and washer with stainless.

Bobbins are usually set into the fibreglass to bolt into.

Yup, it was your car I saw them on I'm interested in the bobbins as the leven door reflectors seem to use them too.

Just checked they're not stainless, just black. See them only with ther boot open on the inside lip. I've got some spare front spliters with bobbins I put a photo later.
Surface & Design are the real guys to talk to over anything bodywork on a TVR.

Pro-Bolt will make any bolt to your specifications in any material ,,I get lots of one off stuff made in titanium

There are some in the corners of the front lip of the boot on mine that look like hex nuts set into the fibreglass from the top.
