Distinct lack of classics for sale these days...?

Previous years , it was usual to have a small selection of classic TVRs - Ms/Taimars/Vixens in the classifieds with the occasional fully restored appearing , but now very little choice for potential purcahsers.

Have noted a few Taimars and Ms have sold quickly on Traders sites ..

Maybe at the end of the summer ( what summer ? ) they might start popping up..

We're currently looking for an M or maybe Taimar. Just missed a nice 2500M at David Gerald's which I understand is off to Switzerland. Also saw another private 2500M advertised that had already sold to France. Both bought unseen.

Guess the Euro rate is encouraging people to buy from UK. But doesn't of course explain why fewer might be for sale...

If you've got a decent M you're thinking of selling drop me a note.

Morning

Returning to TVR classic car ownership and same as yourself also looking for an M or Taimar ...but hens teeth to find a decent restored one.

Noted the cars at David Gerard and Nadder Valley sold fairly quickly and intresting that they were sold unseen and are away to Europe ...

Also a Taimar at AC Roney but a little out of my budget....

I sold a good 3000M a couple of years ago to assist with a house extension - regret it every day ...

Good luck in your search - let me know how you get on..

Regards
Brian

Interestingly the 2 x Tuscans for sale in France were both sold in the UK within the last 12 months. Therefore their owners either got bored very quickly (unlikely) or dealers bought them in the UK and can't sell them.

I recognise one of the cars !

The silver ice blue 1971 Tuscan V6 with luxury interior - wood dash etc was sold recently by David Gerard as I tok an interest in it , although a little out of my price range ...

This 3000M is up for sale at my local auction house. It could be a pretty car if it wasn't for the vinyl roof. But the rear lights - they're really, really terrible.

Afternoon , its a bit wet in Moray eh ?
Stuart the owner in Aberdeen did kindly get in touch before he advertised it , but my preference is to return to M series or Taimar ownership..however knowing the owner , that Vixen is an excellent car .
Thanks for getting in touch...
Regards
Brian..

Hi Brian,

I'm currently out in Saudi at the mo, so no rain to speak of here. Both TVR's doing well, M series flew through it's MoT and the Chim running just fine. Got a little electrical gremlin or 3 on the Chim, but nothing a new fuel sender unit and a temperature gauge & oil pres gauge won't fix. Other than that all is well in my TVR world. Heath & Paul at X-Works did a fantastic job on getting the Chim back on the road. Back on hols in November for a week and then again at New Year so yes, you'll have to pay a visit.

Going to put another topic up on here about a NE Scotland monthly meeting. Doesn't seem to be much happening on the club website regional pages at all up our way. Anywhere between Inverness & Aberdeen would do me fine.

Cheers matey,

Ron

That was a nice looking Tuscan that you had ..
Having been looking at prices , any properly restored Tuscans/Vixens have certainly increased in value over the last few years compared to the M's / Taimars and S Series cars...
