Whats the Ford Galaxy 1.8 diesel like to drive? Cheaper to buy but is it worth paying extra for the 1.9 or 2L? We'll be doing mostly city driving but occasional motorway.

Thanks

I would be interested to know about the 1.8tdci in the Galaxy/S-max, although these modern diesels can be a bit of a nightmare, so i'm also thinking about the 2.0 petrol as we wont do that many miles, anyone have any idea of real world mpg for the 2.0 petrol in the Galaxy/S-max ?
Thanks

Hi I own a 2007 Galaxy 1.8tdci it does about 650mile to a full tank of full. his includes commuting to work and to and from the local town for shopping. They are comfortable and quite driveable. Good fun on the turbo but very lathargic when not at the mid range revs. I have stalled a few times because of it. I think the 2.0tdci may be better on fuel combined cycle but 1.8 is good enough for me. Hope this is any help to you.
