How much is setting off an airbag going to cost me??

So, being a twit, coming home late at night, I've clipped a traffic calming measure popped two tyres, but I've also managed to detonate the side airbag and seatbelt pre tensioner

I have an awful feeling this will cost much money

Anyone ever experience similar and has an idea of the cost? It's an Audi a2 and I'm now seemingly deaf in my right ear and I think I've burnt my arm, what a lovely evening, at least I have the joy of waiting two hours for the aa to take me home!!

Also, why can't I lock the doors??

I think your gut feeling is correct, particularly with audi prices, I'd say an easy 3 figures. do you have protected ncb?

No idea of the cost for repairs but doors most probably are not locking as the idea is that in a crash the doors would automaticly unlock to allow access to an injured driver or passenger. A feature in different circumstances.

Its an audi if you get a 3 figure bill it will be a miracle probably 4 figure bill or possible write off

Chances are it triggered when the sill smacked the deck, so you'll want to be checking that for damage too

My (complete) guess:

New suspension parts and tyres, realignment: £500.
New pre-tensioner, fitted £300.
New side airbag (and replacement trim): £600.
Reset ecu, other stuff, £300.

How much is the car worth? If the above is over 40% of the car they may write it off.

It's not as bad as that, there is only a kerbing ding in the front wheel shouldn't need replacing as far as I can see, The wheel only glanced the edge of the island, no part of the body touched anything. This is why I was so surprised all the safety gear went off!!

I think you guys have confirmed what I thought, and that it's an insurance job
