Guys,

I was hoping one of you might be able to help me!

The service history for my Merc E220 coupe is only partial and I was sure I heard somewhere that you can retrieve all the details if the car has been serviced by Mercedes at any point of a central database.

Is this an urban myth or is there any truth in such a claim?

Cheers

I have done this on several Mercs so it is true.

The issue you get is one of franchises. Within a franchise each can see the details from the others but outside they can't. There is a national database as well but this does not always contain all the history in detail. If you know where the servicing was done then contact that dealer and have a word with the service manager.

Thanks, I will have to have a bit of a ring around then and see what I can track down.

Much appreciated

Its about time they set up an electronic database for service history. Mazda do a pretty good one

What year is the car? Lots of MB dealers were bought up by Mercedes or by PLCs and all the old info was chucked out. When Rivervale in Brighton was taken over they chucked all the old records in a skip

The local dealer may remember the car but might not have any records. Worth a try, though

Hi guys

I also have a Mercedes a beautiful 560 SEC from 1988. Just bought it but all the service history has been 'lost'. Think it was originally out of now defunct Woking Motors of Waton on Thames Surrey.

Can anyone help me retrieve some or as much of its history as possible please?

Phil
