Merc C32 AMG Estate - Am I stupid?

Hello,
I'm going to test drive an 02 Mercedes C32 AMG Estate at the weekend.

It's got about 120,000 miles, FSH, Satnav, Bose etc for £7.5k and on the advert it sounds like a straight and honest car(links don't work from Autotrader I think??)

Now I know that this might seem a dumb question on this website but am I asking for trouble buying a car which would have cost 50k plus new for such a relatively small sum and with that type of mileage on it?

The MPG isn't really an issue as it's for my wife and she does super low miles, however what I'm more concerned about is the running and servicing costs of that monster engine, tyres, brakes and stuff like that. I have also read that rust is an issue on this model of Merc and wondered if anyone knows a little bit more about that particular problem.

Any owners or former owners out there with a view I'd love to hear from you and I would equally appreciate any thoughts from people who just know about these cars or the C Class and Merc estates in general.

That looks lovely. How wrong can you go? You could buy something sensible and catch a bigger cold.
They are all expensive if they they go wrong these days, even a sensible type VW or Audi.
AMG are known for for being quick not falling apart.

there are a couple in the AMG section of the PH classifieds too. Some with just 100k for similar money. I've been thinking about one myself as a run around. They'll be well specced and have over 350bhp. bluetooth and command nav of course.

Apart from that I know nothing though
