I have a 2008 XK which worked no problem with my iPhone when it was running OS 3.1.3. Because I like to keep things up to date, I upgraded the phone to iOS4 when it became available and found that whilst the phone still paired with the car, it wouldn't pick up calls (iPhone just rang and didn't transfer to the car)

So I tried re-paring, etc still no joy. Just upgraded to the latest iPhone software (4.0.2), deleted all the pairing information out of the car and off the phone and tried to pair the two again. Now the car can't even "see" the phone and vice versa meaning the Bluetooth phone system is now useless as it stands.

I could downgrade the OS back to 3.1.3 if necessary, but just wondering if anybody out there has had a similar experience or can offer an alternative solution?

Cheers

The pairing isn't as rock solid as it was before. About once a week it tells me it couldn't pair automatically when getting into the car, but if I tell it to retry, it always succeeds. Prior to upgrading it had never failed to pair automatically. Apart from that, I have had no issues making calls. I can't be sure if I have had any incoming calls since upgrading though. There may be later software for your car which the dealer can apply if all else fails.

Thanks for the input and it seems I may have this working now - whilst in the car and still no joy in pairing after multiple attempts, I reset the network settings on the iPhone and once it rebooted the car saw and paired with the phone again. Incoming call also got passed through to the car as expected and I could make a call. Phone book and recent calls also showed up. smile

Nope. I tell a lie - still doesn't transfer an incoming call to the car automatically frown Called Jaguar who told me there are no plans to support iOS4 or iPhone 4, although the latter does show up on their Bluetooth compatibility centre as currently being tested, so maybe sometime in the future ...

Wouldn't it make more sense to get Apple to fix their software. It used to work OK now Apple have broken it, why does that become Jaguar's problem?
The web seems full of people complaining about the ios4 SW release causing all sorts of problems on all sorts of iPhones.
