I don't think he ejected - I think he's in the aircraft until it hits the ground.

Yes he is in it all the way down. Its the same sort of thing as the cirrus caps system.

Still, that looks like just enough time to realise whats happened, and then that you are about to have a slow nosedive into the ground with the potential for fire, must have been nerve racking!

And of course a lot better than the alternative
