E46 window rattle
Discussion
Hi all,
My 330 convertible has developed the most annoying window rattle in the world EVER. It's on the driver's side just by my right ear. The other side a rattle-free. But if I lower the window by even a millimetre it stops completely.
I can't really live with it much longer but I'm worried that if I stick it in to a dealership or even an independent, they'll charge a fortune just looking for the source.
Anyone got any ideas of what could be causing it? Is it the seal? Or could it be the window itself?

Firstly i could be something as simple as a seal like you said. Try finding out if the seal is worn or not as tight fit as it should be. Some of the trim can pop up and off if its not on right. Check that first...then if it still persists, you can always try packing the seal round where the window enters into the door to try and tighten the gap.
Read the link below, it is very good and will make life easier just taking the panel off (like there is a screw behind the airbag plastic thingy). Gives some very good pointers to you potential issue. Let us know how you get on.
