Does anyone know if it's possible to retro fit the larger optional extra superleggera rear spoiler onto a regular Gallardo to replace its small pivoting one ?

Yes, I believe its a standard bolt off bolt on to same mounts (and you'll want to disconnect the wing raising mechanism).

have you bought the wing? I was considering doing the same.. Wondered if you were going OEM or something like:

Thats just what i'm after. I'm slightly concerned that i'll need a front splitter though to avoid the understear that the extra rear downforce will create.

... the normal SL does not have an extra front splitter, and obviously runs this wing. I doubt you'll have a problem.

I already have some RSC parts on my car, always keen for more as the quality is amazing.

My car is currently in the bodyshop having the LP560 front bumper sprayed and fitted.

I guess if you could get enough people together into a "group buy" then RSC could do a nice price, but more importantly help save on shipping over to the UK!

Give them an email, they have a guy in the UK (Ben @ rsctuning.com).

i've just gone from regular sl spoiler to something slightly larger

minor issues :

removing the third brake light gives warning light grief ( wip )
single sl bonnet strut is not up to the job ( wip )
had to change insurance co
as i knew beforehand, can't see the middle of the car behind
spoiler catches garage door when bonnet opened in garage

if you're keeping the third brake light, then you may find that the wiring from the front of the tailgate to the brake light is too short
do you have the camera ?

Andrew, thanks for that very usefull, yes i've got the camera and want to keep the 3rd rear light. On looking at Matts RSC recomendation it looks at if its catered for.

Did you go for a Lambo spoiler or a RSC one ? and who fitted it for you, sorry for all the questions.

presumably the rsc kit includes a longer wiring loom : the loom on my sl with the standard spoiler will not stretch to a taller spoiler

neither

Hi Andrew

removing the third brake light and then the warning light issues can be over come by making a tiny wiring loom up and connecting the correct resistor value in the loom that way on start up when the warning system does its checks it sees the same value as the bulbs / bulb .

This has worked in the past when i converted an audi S8 head lights to later led lights , but this was going from bulb type head lights (high resistence to led head lights (low resistence) placed in correct resistence fall the check system .

I would think it would work on the third light in the same way .

I have now seen 2 threads about changing bumpers and spoilers on gallardos. I thought the general perception on making your car look like something it isnt was "chavvy" or "halfords stick on's"?? Im not saying these changes do look like that, i do prefer the LP front bumper on either gallardo and i like the aggressive rear spoiler on the SL but not sure about adding an SL rear spoiler or certainly not the aggressive one to the normal gallardo looks correct?

Also i like the conversions carried out on the early murci, its just funny that on other brands they are not looked upon in such a good way.

Personally i do not like GT kits on normal carrera's.

It looks chavvy if you modify your car in a chavvy way. It looks good if you do it right.

Entirely your choice which route to take smile
