Tuscan Convertible - Marks on the rear screen

I think most Tuscan Convertible owners get these - a couple of marks on the rear screen where the plastic touches the roll bar when the hood is down.

Anyone know how to clean them off?

Same as on the Chim - I use either Auto Glym glass polish or Renovo plastic window polish but always with a nice new cloth

I got a couple of leather seat belt strap pads for my Mk2 convertible seat belts as they rub against my neck. It occured to me that this may help the rear screen if I put something similar araound the roll bar frame.

Put Seat belt covers on the roll hoops, Renovo will get rid of the marks if they are not too bad. Mine have been on since the car was new and no problems. This issue came up 4 years ago, with the seat belt strangulation problem, more recent owners of course may not be aware of the problem.

I had some alcantara left over, after Carl Baker had created a slightly modified rear speaker panel for me. Racing Green turned the fabric into bands of about 5" wide that go around the roll bar, just where the screen touches the tubes when the roof folds down. They wrap around the tubes and are fastened with velcro.

It's very simple, looks great and works a treat.

I will take a photo and post it when I have the opportunity.

By the way, for cleaning the screen I always use Meguiars PlastX, which removes small scratches as well.

Never solved it. Bought three times thickness seat cushions from TVR , helped a bit, But still pull down the seat belt every couple of miles . Tell you though , with my new clutch , the car feels better than when it was brand new... Sure my clutch was faulty from new... No crunching , don't have to stick my foot thorough the floor anymore, going into all gears is silky smooth and 5th to reverse is perfect every time.... After 4 years the car is the best its ever been .

Just about ready for a clutch change myself. Did you go for anything special ?

Nothing special TVR Power supplied it to X-Works and Heath/Paul fitted it. Heath did remark my gearbox was one the tightest he had come across , no play and very positive.

As promised, below a couple of photos of the bands that go around my roll bar to protect the rear screen. I used to put some cloth between the tubes and the screen, but this makes life much easier and looks a lot better. Very pleased with it.
