OK, this sounds really really silly to me, but I like the idea so much that I just had to run it past you guys:
I've got a company car, and it's going back later this year. Now I could get another one - you know the kind of thing, - £20k - £25K worth of Jag Diesel, MG, Audi or somthing like that.
But, given that the cost of fuel is not a problem for me, I was wondering if a used Cerbera might make a viable alternative?
It would need to be able to do 25k miles per year and be reasonably reliable.
(although I do have a big bad wedge on hand for those days when it comes to a halt!
)
I live not too far from Joospeed, so he could do the servicing.
Anybody got a view on this? Would a Cerb take 75ks worth of A road miles in 3 years? What would the service costs be in that time? Am I being a total lunatic even thinking about this?
Seriously, if I can get comfortable that it won't break my heart I could well be up for this.......

Quick answer would be, if you stick to the recommended service periods,
in three years you would have bills for servicing in the region of 20k
That is based on 13 services averaging £1500 each.
4.2's and 4.5's have gone beyond the 75k mileage mark with no trouble.
Sure it could be done, but is your budget that big?

I had the same thoughts when looking for mine.
I get a car allowance each month from my company and this should pay for buying, maintaining taxing and insuring the car. Petrol is paid on top.
Sounds good to start with but doesn't really work out due to spending the money on other things.
I use mine for work only if the estimated mileage for the day is less than 100 miles round trip. Keeps the mileage sensible. I'll be doing around 12k per year in the Cerb.
On the other days I use the wifes car which is all paid up!! Again 12-15k per year.
My advise is buy something cheapish out right and use the car allowance to buy the Cerb. Use both cars to ease the mileage to keep the grin!!

I think Graham is correct. You will certainly need deep pockets though.
Cerbs do like to be run on a daily basis. More problems can occur, if the car is brought out 'every now and then'. As someone has pointed out, your best bet is to speak to Joolz. He does have a customer who does 1000 miles per week, so he should be able to answer a few qustions.

In fact the car looked its best when it was covered in snow that time....
....sorry Dave!The original owner of my intergalactic Cerbera did this level of mileage a year and from the paperwork I have didn't seem to have too many problems - mind you a young lad called Joolz at Hexham looked after it.
The way I would look at it is... if you can afford it then do it. The car is so much fun to drive. Worth having a second car in the background just in case as it takes the pressure off. If that is another TVR then even better.
