If I was the owner, I would have just left him there. Pretend I had not seen him, and see if he could wriggle out when he'd lost a few pounds , like three weeks from now.

Or just gone outside when dark so he could not see who it was and no one could see me doing it, then broken his ankles with a big bat.

Some years ago we had some local scroat who DID manage to get through a window roughly that size. It was slightly higher from the ground and was a steel framed jobbie - long gone thank goodness.

I had thought no-one would be able to climb through it so had left it open overnight. I reckon I had the last laugh as the microwave he stole was unsellable plus he didn't get the turntable, also the VCR he took was one I heartily disliked and was glad to see the back of.
