problerm with dash vents

tried the search but its down at the mo, so whilst caught in heavy rain tonight car got quite steamy and noticed bugger all from dash vents, is this common prob and where should i start first? cheers rob

Heater flap fault? when moving between hot/cold temos a flap under the panel in the engine bay moves to divert the hot air to the window vents (closing the face level ones) and vice versa. Might be stuck or broken.

A bit of a bh to see as you need to de-silicone the panel to see it moving. Job for the garage best bet at a couple of hundered quid

they didnt work on hot or cold to be honest, so not a simple job for me to check then? the only one with any real force was the passenger facing one, ones in footwell were bit limp and windscreen was nothing.

Maybe the ducting has come adrift? the air most go somewhere if the blower is running or is that busted too?

Flap settings could be the issue; it's certainly an easier check than ripping out the heater matrix to check the flap!

Which? One of the lower knee vents? Or one of the two face vents at the same height as the stereo?

main pressure coming from passenger in line with the stereo, and lower ones albeit a bit limp but nothing from top ones, pressure is def there but just not getting round evenly to all the vents

I'd say that's the flap settings on the POD then. When I was adjusting ours, certain settings put all the pressure to the window vents and none to the dash.

pod settings, is that easy to get at?

Go into the menu on your display and go to Factory Settings, POD Menu 8. Select 'Flap Zero' and adjust it in steps (clicking both buttons to check at each stage) until the air flows correctly. When you've selected a new value, then clicked both buttons to set, the fans will switch off, then come back on with the new flap settings a few seconds later. It's trial and error really as every car has its own setting.

I might not have explained it very well; the Sag Manual does a far better job of explaining it!

excellent it was exactly that, put it on number 10 and getting a good even distribution now, what are the
other settings on factory mode about concerning speedo and revs and air con etc??

Speedo & Tacho are so you can 're-zero' the needles if needed. Don't have aircon but I would guess its is it fitted or not or on/off
