How can people stop parking in private spaces??

Hi all,
Just wondering how people are going to stop others using their private parking spaces once the legislation regarding clamping is changed?
I appreciate that in some situations you could put up those lockable bollards or gates if it's an enclosed area, but there are also allot of situations where this is just not practical so how are people going to be able to protect their own parking?
Fines seem to be the only other option, but it seems to me this is a very grey area and could cost allot to enforce as most people would just ignore it and force the ticketing party to drag them through small claims which cost allot of time any money and if played right buy the defendant may well just end up with them paying the original fine plus costs.
So is the change really a good thing, or should the government be force to make sure these companies are regulated more closely rather than just rolling over and changing the rules so they don't have to?

if i cant get them to stop i will buy 2 cars and leave them there.

If you do put up one of those posts that folds away, do remember to fold it away when you park!
Unlike a friend of mine who put one up in his parking space in the flats where we lived, then forgot one dark night and reversed into it. His Range Rover flattened the post, but not before doing enough damage to require a repair and respray of the back bumper.

How's about a clear sign saying "Resident car parking only, other cars parked here at owners risk". Or, "cars parked here will be removed and dumped".
Maybe enough to deter people thinking their car will be trashed (or dumped somewhere) when they come back.
Let all the tyres down, harmless and will prevent repeat offenders.
Trolley jacks (or tow) and move car to middle of road
Spiked entrance (i.e. like a stinger) into car park that can only be removed by use of padlock etc.
Plenty of options

Problem is when the driver does it to the other cars in the car park by means of retribution. I know of a resident who had their car trashed and that day had complained to a driver who kept parking in the private car park. Pretty obvious who trashed the car, really, but no proof, so...Let all the tyres down, harmless and will prevent repeat offenders.
