New Windscreen

Having a new screen fitted sat. I remember reading something about how to take the side carbon bits off but cant find it anywhere if anyone can help. is there anything else i need to know.

I would say those that are fitting should know or i would think about going to another fitter.

If you open the door you will see 3 or 4 black rivets holding the carbon trim to the A pillar. Drill the heads of these off. The carbon trims are also held on by mastik so you should get them off by prising them off gently.

I got mine off this way and it was pretty easy to do.

Try Racing Green - they managed to source me a heated one a few months ago.

I just went through my insurance. they asked me if heated or just green tint and they had in stock. asked about what fitter they send and they said all there fitters are graded and for this sort of car they will send there highest grade fitter. so far all gone fine. Will wait to see what happens sat pm when they come to fit it. Will let you no. auto windscreens is the company i think but will confirm. £60 excess and thats it

auto glass did mine some time back now and i was lucky they used one of their guys who had done a few cerbs before. They fitted a heated screen which they insisted i could not drive for a good few hours until all was dry. I was pleased and still am with their quality of workmanship.

got a phone call last night. glass didnt come into branch so got to wait till next week now. they said it is due in on wednesday......
