Sunseekers, Poole and Bournemouth

Hey all, do you or any associates work for Sunseeker? What are they like as an employer?
After a life changing year, with the Mrs Sly knocking Breast cancer on the head we've decided on a move to the Bournemouth/Poole area.
The life down there suits our pace and we are looking for reccomendations of good places to live (currently staying in Lytchett Matravers which is 10 miles from everywhere).
I'm a cad monkey, and would quite happily stroll up to Sunseeker and offer my services,
and she can work anywhere - 4 kids so schools are important too.
Any comments welcome.

Mudeford, Christchurch, Lymington are the quieter places to live and are lovely. If you want to be in a more main part then Boscombe which is just "next door" beach wise to Bournemouth, but it will get very busy there in summer.
We know how to avoid the tourists already, anyone visiting Bournemouth beach during peak hours is an idiot, evenings along the Chines are great.Christchurch & Lymington always gave the impression of being "Gods waiting room" which we are not ready for yet, and I can't afford Sandbanks (yet!)
I was fishing unsuccesfully at Mudeford yesterday - nice plaice!

Not sure how well you know Mudeford but my parents live not far from the Sandpiper pub. It's about 10min walk to the beach from there.

If you're looking for somewhere in the Bournemouth area then i'd personally avoid the studenty areas - ghost town out of term and a nightmare in term (parking is a nightmare, you'll get wing mirrors kicked off if you park on the street, loud idiots at 3am etc...)

Mudeford is nice (as said) maybe Friars cliff right next door is worth a look, always been a good area but not to expensive, been some recent sandbanks type developments going on round there so could be worth a look, used to live in Southcliffe Road 
don't know if you have kids but I went to Mudeford junior which was an excellent school.
ps- worked at Sunseekers very early on, not great employers then but that was 25 years ago

Pvapour: you may well know my Dad from way back then ... he retired from Sunseeker about 18months ago having been there 27 or 28 years - was a supervisor for one of the groups of "stickies" in Willis Way. And yes, he still is a grumpy b

There are good and bad things with every employer, and Sunseeker is a huge concern now.
Isn't the CAD stuff based in Tower Park? If so, where you live now is easier to get to Tower Park than probably anywhere else west of there? And you'll want to avoid "Bos Vegas" at all costs anyway, as posted above ^^^

Bit of a squeeze with 4 kids.OP; Isle of Purbeck. Much more refined than those ruffians in Poole/BoMo (who ever came up with that one?) And I may know of a nice 4 bedroomed house for sale...

My Cousin's Husband works for Sunseekers and lives near Poole. He is very happy with Sunseekers and claim them to be a very reputable employer. Apparently actually quite hard to get into but if in sales they earn a small fortune although spend alot of time away on business. He works on the outfitting of the boats once ordered.
In fact he has an interesting story about Lewis Hamilton and his "partner" visiting which I couldnt possible repeat!

Look at Lower Parkstone if you want to be very close to the towns/beaches, there are some nice places around there that aren't too badly priced; or if you don't mind being a little further out then I would reccommend Wimborne, nice little town, right on the A31 so jobs in Southampton wouldn't be out of reach and it's only 10 minutes from the beach.

- Lymington's not so bad if you get into the sailing fraternity. There are some excellent pubs in the town that are off the beaten track. I grew up in Lymington & would return there at the drop of a hat if there was sufficent work in the area. Which there isn't
- Christchurch is lovely, but has a fairly rough element to it, with the council estate opposite McDonalds on the way to Mudeford
- Mudeford itself has a VERY old population (along with Highcliffe). My wife & I lived off Stanpit Road when we were first married & our neighbours used to go batmental when I fired our TVR 3000M up at 7.30am on a Sunday morning!
- If you are looking for a younger place, New Milton is worth considering. One hell of a lot cheaper than Lymington, but not quite as nice. However, it is only a 10 minute drive to Lymington for the sea & has a slightly younger population
Yeah yeah, Mudeford and Christchurch ARE nice. But if you plan on working at Sunseeker, you WILL NOT want to be crossing from one side of Bourenmouth to the other twice a day to get to and from Poole Quay, no matter how good an idea it sounds now.
Lytchett Matravers is quite nice, you could do a lot worse if you plan to work in Poole.
Sunseeker is an emplyer of choice for this area, so Im not sure you walk into a job, but its worth a try. They also have a large amount of their operations on the industrial estate behind Tower Park, which is very easy to get to from where you are.
Avoid Boscombe. If you have to live in a stty house in Branksome, its 10 times better than a nice place in the ghetto Boscombe. Had a Mrs in Boscombe - her flat there was one of the reasons we split up. I had to drive past a couple of murder scenes and a couple of prostitutes to get to her place. Gentrification my arse. Ive lived in Christchurch, Ferndown, Winton, Moordown and now Branksome. I love this area.
Lytchett Matravers is quite nice, you could do a lot worse if you plan to work in Poole.
