(Gun)dog training books

[muppetdave]

We've got our Sprocker puppy, and although I've trained dogs from puppies previously, I've not then taken them on to be a gundog. Can anyone recommend any books which will not only cover training the hound, but with consideration to training as a gundog - I'm conscious of pushing her the wrong way with the basics which might be detrimental to the shooting side of things.

I just bought it so I can train this little fellow up.

PH meet my lovely lab puppy. He has no name yet but I have been calling him Mr Darcy Jr.

That's dedication, teaching him to read first will probably be your biggest barrier here.

cheers Emsman, just ordered it. The other one looked good too, so perhaps will have a look at that one at another date.

For info - the sprocker in question...

Very cute looking pup.

I shall be training Floyd- my standard poodle- in due course.
Reason?

Life is too short to shoot with an ugly dog.
