Hi,

I only caught a glimpse from the car, but does anyone know what it may gave been.

I though perhaps they had got a Vulcan off the ground, or Concord.

It was smoking well with all 4 engines producing plumes and flying fairly low over Newport Pagnell area.

Any ideas,

Z

I can only assume you are:

a) Kidding around

or

b) have justa awoken from a coma.

On the chance it is the latter:

I guess if you're 'into' aircraft then you'd know, but otherwise it's not *that* widely known or relevant to the real world the a Vulcan is flying again?

Edited after reading the thread properly: It wasn't about last weekend but definitely was flying last Thursday and Friday.

Given the publicity this aircraft and project as a whole have been given I would disagree.

The comments were however said in jest - perhaps you would have liked a smiley or several?

Well, since the O/P also didn't seem aware that a ConcordE isn't currently flown (which if it was, would surely generate more general public interest?)...maybe they are not 'into' aircraft. That's all I was saying.

I had a look at the website below and assumed because there appeared to be a current page still trying to raise money to get to stage 1, it had not achieved flight.

I didn't spend too long looking into it.

I am not what you would call an aircraft fan, and a couple of other chaps at work didn't seem to know, so I asked here.

Kind regards,

Zhttp://www.avrovulcan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=8&Itemid=7

The future can never be predicted correctly so, who knows what may transpire in the future. But given all the legal, financial and technical hurdles that would have to be overcome to make this happen, it looks exceedingly unlikely in any sensible time frame.

However, this topic has been debated to death on PH so I don't really want to engage in it (yet again).

I'll gladly donate £1 to Dr Grns's "model fund" if I'm proved to be wrong.

All I'm thinking Eric is that "ever again" is a very long time, so I haven't got much to lose! biggrin

By the time I have to pay up the following scenarios are pretty likely -

£1 will buy you sweet FA
I'll be dead

So I feel that my wallet can remain covered in dust.
