Hi Folks,

Looking for some advice ideally from owners of the Fletcher arrowflash 15:

Is the wake any good for wakeboarding? Will it even pull a int wakeboarder?

Fuel consumption? looking to be out for 4+ hours at a time

Any help greatly appreciated

Lol, you wont get much of a wake with a 15ft tiddler but it should be able to pull you OK. I used to have a 15ft Super Simms with a 60 and that used to pull a skier just about OK.

Yes i'm not comparing to a mastercraft hehe just need to know it will pull us.

I'm even thinking of selling the 75 if i get it and pop on a Mer 135hp....that should spruce it up a bit biggrin

75hp will be fine on a 15ft! Plenty of power for wakeboarding. Go for it, nice boat to get you started. I've had a few Fletchers myself when we were starting out. Did a lot of wakeboarding in Poole Harbour.

Thats sounds positive then, it was either that or a maxum/searay 18ft but i was told the 3ltr inboards arent too good for wakeboarding confused

All im after is to be able wakeboard cheaply and without too much stress on the engine

Those 18 foot boats with 3.0 sterndrives are quite heavy and a little underpowered. The Fletcer will be quicker I'd have thought

Used to waterski at Two Tree Island off Leigh-on-sea back in the late 70's early 80'2 with a 15' Simms Super V and a 50 merc. That's taken me right back up memory lane where there is no turning place, only adverts to search for cheap ski boats!

Nice!! Similar to my first boat. Should set you on the road to many boats in the future. Enjoy it and be safe!!!

You might find the fuel consumption a bit of a shock if you do!

we had a 15ft fletcher with 75hp on the back, and it was fine for wakeboarding. only time it struggled was pulling 2 skiers out together.

get some weight in the back of the boat to increase the wake, but it might have to be a pretty short rope to maximise the effect.

nothing wrong with 135 3.0 i/o in a 17.5-18ft boat-had a few of them over the years and the last was a 175 bayliner with a tower-nice wake when trimmed about a quarter out-even better if 2 seat in the rear jump seats, plenty of go for a deep water mono ski/100kg rider and a 40mph tow aswell.£50 of squirt and 45mph max speed for a days fun was all good in my book.

Nothing at all wrong with the 135 Mercs - I've got a 135hp 2.0lt V6 Black Max on the back of a 17 foot Dory Sportsman & its very good indeed, way over spec but that's what it came with - just that compared to a 75 you might find the consumption a bit of a shock!

I remember some guys with a Glastron and a Johnson 235. They used to fill the boat with fuel cans!

My mate was a bit of a wally, so I spent most of my time waist deep on the ramp. We did tow it behind a Lancia Beta Spyder, which was cool.

And that awful cafe on the bend! Jeez, how it all comes back.

Remember also if you fit a engine with more HP than the boat is rated for a lot of insurance companies will walk away..
