Hoping i can seek some assistance with my new motor.

Just taken delivery of a 12mth old C250D B-Ef Sport Saloon with all the toys (liking it alot), but after wasting most of an afternoon & evening setting her up to my tastes & requirements (you know the routinesmile) i'm stuck with one simple issue i can't solve.

The car has COMAND APS with H/K Upgrade so has Bluetooth, however although i can connect my iPhone 3GS with no problem, it does not appear to be pulling through the Contacts. For my Bluetooth Connection with our Audi Q5 i'm given a few options on the iPhone to Sync Contacts, show Recent Calls & Phone Favorites, but on the MB Bluetooth connection it doesn't show any options other than Forget This Device. This leads me to believe it's a limitation, fault or user error relating to the car rather than the phone. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Second question relates to a re-map. What's available for this model? who are the better tuners & which ones are the best value as don't want to spend much as those days of more extensive modding i want to put behoind mesmile

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately you can't send your contacts across via the iPhone to the C-Class COMAND system, you have either input them manually or put your sim into another phone (Nokia's are best) and then send them across via business card to the COMAND system where they will be stored on the memory.

A right pain and like you rightly state, it's a limitation of the system.

OK, looks like it's a known issue so i bypassed the problem by copying all my regular contacts one by one from a Nokia Handset by Bluetooth. Was a real pain as not used a Nokia for years so had to sync that with MS Outlook first (that caused a few duplications), then one by one Bluetooth them as Business Cards to the car. Even after all the farting around, still a few odd data entries so had to maually update them, however after a few hours it's done

Another question now around the Xenon's. My C250 has Intelligent Light System (think it's called that) as an option, so has Xenons, Auto Lights & Daylight Lamps & in the Multi Func Wheel/Dash it allows me to switcg on/off the Intelligent Light System & another option called Surround Lighting.

Questions are, what is Surround Lighting? & how come the Daytime Driving Lamps when switched on appear to be the main Xenons & rears? On my RS4 & M5 the DRL's were just small front only lights, not the Xenons & rears alight & this still seems to be the case on Audi's & BMW's with DRL's & i'm sure Merc's now have those LED DRL's. I keep the lights set to A which the manual indicates is Auto, but seems odd with these settings that the Xenons are on when driving in daylight??

Ps. Still really enjoying my 1st ever Merc.

Yep that was the only way of getting the contacts on there, a complete pain, but once it's done it's done and doesn't matter when you change phones etc.

The surround lighting is the foglights coming on when you're turning a corner, if you notice when driving at night and you turn the steering wheel the area left/right will light up on the ground, it's actually a pretty good system, but looks a bit odd when manouvering as you only have one foglight on!

Merc do now have proper DRL's but they have always had the option to have the lights on all the time, like on your car. This just over-rides the light sensor and means you headlights will always be on and as you've found out also the rear lights, I think it's law in some countries to always have your headlights on, hence the option in the menu. There isn't a way to just have the front lights on unfortunately.

Hope this helps!
