There was a thread about this recently in the North West forum. Have a dig around there.

Take a walk done the main shopping drag and laugh at Scousers. The birds out shopping in their PJs tickled me. (Laugh internally, not at them directly. Some can be confrontational.)

If you're into the Beatles, there are plenty of touristy things linked to them. The Albert Docks have coffee shops, restaurants and a few arty / touristy things, if that's what you're after.

You could always take a ferry across the Mersey...?

If you want to get the proper Scouser experience, instead of going to the football, go and rob the footballers houses whilst they're playing in the game...

For the 'full' experience, make sure you get stabbed/mugged/robbed/sworn at.

I went out in Liverpool a few years ago, we went to an Argentinian Restaurant ( called Meat ? ) which had a tie in deal with a Comedy club ( which I think was called The Slaughterhouse ). The audience were funnier than the acts, and everybody was really up for a laugh.

Some great looking girls in Liverpool, they really make an effort to look good.

The Pyjamas thing is actually very true, I heard that they have had to ban girls wearing pyjamas in Tescos !

Pyjamas - check
Ugg boots - check
Sunglasses on head - check

Meat Argentinian Steakhouse is worth a visit. There are a few nice restaurants over here at the moment, and new ones opening all the time.

I enjoy Sapporo for Japanese and a bit of a show, Il Forno for Italian, Chaopraya for Thai, 60 Hope Street or London Carriageworks are worth a shout, but would book all of the above. Google them for directions/menus etc.

I always like to wander down to the docks, you WILL meet some weird and wonderful (and mostly orange) females. I went up on the Liverpool Eye which is quite good.

Liverpool is a regular haunt for me anyway, I work in the City and drink there fairly often at the weekend, I've never been stabbed, shot or mugged either.

Shopping is much improved and some decent jewelers if, like me, you enjoy seeing what is on the watch market. It's getting better all the time is Liverpool.
