Hello

Last night driving home, all of a sudden the car start to lose power, the engine check light comes on.

Got the car off the M/way thank god...........

The car will idle, the oil press is ok, so is water temp..............the sound from the engine is like a boxs of nails in a tin.................no exhaust gases from the right pipe, but left ok.

Car is a 2001 996 C4.....34000 miles

Help..........and of course the car is no longer in warranty........such is life

Any ideas..........please

hard to say, sounds initially like dual mass flywheel has given up the ghost...the fact that it runs and guages have sensible readings, means it is not terminal. assume it is on original clutch at that mileage? may not be correct diagnosis,,but sort of tricky to work out on a forum!

Would that be much to fix and do I take it to a Porsche dealer or a indepndent

had exactly the same problem with my 99 c4 a couple of years ago, except mine was in warranty

problem? petrol pump faulty. 'unheard of' said afn chiswick...

cost to me to repair? big fat zero.

cost for you? 800 of your hard earned spondoooolies.
