Sorry about this and I fully expect a comprehensive pillorying for this but I think it’s ever so slightly ‘Footballers Wives’.
If I wanted a super fast convertible then it would be SL55 all the way and if I wanted a 996 Turbo (and boy do I) then it would have to have a metal roof a manual box and preferably two wheel drive and generally as little in the way of frippery as possible.
It just seems like mixing Krug with Lemonade
so as the saying goes “If you stick your chin out……….”

SL500 it ain’t no 55! Perhaps I may be a little harsh but having recently driven an SL55 I am ever so slightly smitten as I could not imagine any other convertible ‘floating my boat’ to the same extent
I had a good paw over a 996 Turbo Cab in OPC Colchester recently and despite the “It’s already sold” spiel from the salesman it just didn’t seem to me to be the pretty much ultimate interpretation of the current 911 that it’s price suggests. That mantle surely rests far more happily on the shoulders on the GT3 RS which they also had round the back waiting to be PDI’d, in a word fantastic, in two,
ing fantastic
Good to see the picky posted none the less as a conversation point none the less. Unfortunately being stuck in the Shire opportunities for such things are slightly less frequent.

Totally agree. This strikes me as a posers car.
Then again we agree on the 965 it seems
