Jerking acceleration

Wondering if anyone can tell me possible problems with my MINI as I was driving home earlier it started jerking whilst accelerating through the gears and there was an odd noise coming from the exhaust. Will be getting it into an indi garage soon but just for quick clarification thought I'd ask on here. Thanks in advance

If you're describing the symptom I think you're describing, that happened with my old 306 when the head gasket went. Check your oil etc before driving it.

Possibly coil pack failing? Certainly a misfire?
