Hi all,

I am new to the forum so apologies if this is posted in the wrong area.
I am contemplating the idea of buying/swapping one of my bmw's for a mk1 fiesta.
The original idea was to remove the engine and replace it with a bike engine however im not sure if the pro's would out way the con's? I hoped some one on here may have some useful advice for me as to which direction I should go if I did get my hands on one.

Cheers Dan

Well the plan at the minute is to source a reasonably priced mk1 rolling shell.
Mk3 rs turbo engine, how much in the way of changes would need to be done to fit it?
Anyone know of any similar projects around?

Finding a good mk1 Fiesta shell would be the hardest part i'd say.

Not sure if i'd go down the turbo road either to be honest,a 2.0 Zetec should have planty go about it in a Fiesta and maybe an easier conversion?

When you do decide get onto www.highlandoldskoolfords.co.uk. Plenty locals here with old Fords.

Both the cossie engine and bike engine conversions have been done to MK1 Fiestas.

The Cossie route is not simple as you have to change the car to RWD which meants new bulkheads, transmission tunnel, rear floor etc etc. Some serious metal work in that conversion.

Bike engine would mean rear mounting it too so again is alot of work.

RST engine is the easiest and most duplicated method. You should be able to get the advice and parts you need quite easily.

I would personally search on www.passionford.com as there are a couple of similar prijects over there.
