Having seen the thread on the Steinhart B-Uhr posted by Thehawkswoops, I took a quick glance at the Chronomaster site. Once again I find myself thinking that I really should not post on this forum as it ends up costing me money!!!!! smile

Anyway, I have an excuse as it is my birthday on Monday, so I can justify adding something to the collection. I really want a classic Pilot watch and as the IWC Big Pilot is out of the question at the moment (just completed an extension at home plus I am saving for a 997) I am tempted to go with either a Steinhart or Archimede.

Here's the Steinhart Nav B-Uhr Hand Winding: http://www.chronomaster.co.uk/Steinhart%20Pilot.ht...

Alternatively, Jura have the Archimede Pilot XLH for £100 more: http://www.jurawatches.co.uk/Archimede/Pilot/Pilot... - I will pop in tomorrow and take a look at the Archimedes in the flesh

So which one do I go for? Does anyone have any either of the above and can comment on quality/build etc?

I'm not keen on onion crowns but Steinhart seem to have updated/changed theirs from the previous ones to chunkier one.

Apart from that I prefer the handset of the Archimede too.

Archimede gets my vote.

Nice looking watch. As facile as it sounds, I don't much like the look of the Steinhart emblem and little motif thingy.

Thanks guys. I agree, the blued hands really do look good. Will pop into Jura this afternoon. Question now is black or brown strap... May have to order a Toshi for it too
