Am in London for a long weekend, might be doing one of those Evans rides in the south downs on Sunday but on Sat will prob go to Richmond Park to get a few miles in.

Do any of you chaps go there on Saturday afternoons for spins? It would be cool to meet up with some PHers for the first time if anyone was planning on going out then.

I can't this Saturday but I would recommend going as early as you can.
The park gets very busy with cars around lunchtime and all afternoon.

The club cyclists aim for 8am on Sunday for a reason!

He's not wrong. I'm away this weekend, otherwise I would have come along. I'm a big fan of after dark. The deer USUALLY stop wandering about after dusk, so you have the park to yourself...

Agreed, but as long as you're relatively quick, the cars don't pose a problem, as you can safely ride around the outside.

If you ride alone, then you have far more space around you to make decisions, rather than riding nose to tail or 2 x 2 as per most club riding styles....

I don't see an issue with it as a place to train etc, but it does annoy me a bit that whole bunches of people seem to use it as a club run. Why they can't get out in the country I've no idea.

Although I suspect for many its just a warm up.
