If its like mine, dashboard out time.

Dashboard off so you can get at the back of the instrument panel. The dashboard is held in place with three nuts. Bolts are mounted in the dash, so you reach up from underneath and remove a nut from each to free the dash. Steve's Bible gives a good guide for finding the two nuts on the passenger's side, and drivers side bolt is locateable once you've pulled the side air vent piping off.

Involves standing on your head in the footwells and shoving your hand into narrow spaces full of the tips of self tapping screws. The first time is a compete pain in the arse. I'd recommend replacing the nuts with wing nuts so you don't have to try and get a spanner into the blind holes.

Also if you haven't got the Steve's bible, its worth getting as you won't find the nuts by accident.

Steve Heath, www.tvrbooks.co.uk , has written a book on Chims and Griffs which is the closest thing I've found to a workshop manual, and also gives lots of other background info. If you really want to take the car apart you'd need more detailed info on the engine, gear box and diff, but for everything else, Steve's book is the way to go. Everyone should have a copy ... and I reckon that's worth a 10% commission for me.

Thanks for that. Seems like a very useful book, only the order page says I can only buy via the TVR club...next question is, why should I join the club? (apart from the bible)

You can buy the book from the TVRCC without being a member. I haven't got round to joining yet, so I'll pass on that question...
