RX8 - any good?

I have no knowledge of Mazdas - any help gratefully received.
I've been offered an RX8 click in exchange for my E46 330Ci.
With this in mind I'm used to a thirsty car and I'm expecting the RX8 to be similar - is this correct? Performance won't be stellar but I'd expect it to be okay-ish - I'd just like a reliable car for getting to work - is it a good choice?

I would be very cautious of a RX8 with that many miles on the clock.

You want to be spending almost double to get a decent one with a worthwhile warranty.
