throttle pots/stuck

I have a 97 Cerbera 4.2 which wasn't running too good. Since there're no Tvr specialists over here I'd like to tell you my problem. The car was running very poor on the driver's side bank, I changed spark-plugs, leads and oil and all that and than came to the conclusion, that there's something wrong with those throttle-pots. I disconnected the tp while car was running - on the left bank the engine did stall immediatly on the driver's side nothing happened, when I pulled the connector out. I then decided to change the throttle-pots to see, if the ecu has one as master or if one is simply out of order. Since I did that the engine wouldn't start and has no iddling other than with your foot on the throttle. I thought this has to do with the tp and changed'em back, but still the same!? I'm a bit scared now, because it won't drive anymore and is standing in a local garage and those guys won't have it there anymore?!

Is there anything I could do? I have an early style MBE with small 2-pin diagnostics lead??

Furthermore, does anyone know which model the tp's came of (is it a 95 Ford scorpion)

Download the Diagnostics software. You only need a standard Serial Cable to connect to the ECU. It definitely sounds like it could be Throttle pots.
The TP's may be from an old Scorpio I'm not sure, but you can get new ones from someone like Clever Trevor, he would post them to Germany for you.

Just noticed Power and Clever Trevor list the part numbers the opposite way round for the 4.5(blue) and the 4.2(grey) which one is right as there's a large price differance too?

I have an early type MBE ecu with a 2-pin diagnosis wire?? I removed it from my passengers foot-area today.....

DB9 Female to DB9 Male Serial cable, available from any Computer store. If you have a modern Laptop with no serial port get a USB connector.
Remove the cover from the ECU (4 little Allen keys) and you will see where the cable plugs in.
