Quick question for the brainy types......

I have endured (yes that is the correct word) about 8 months of BT "customer service" I won't go in to the gems of business management they have achieved so far but basically ineptitude on magnificent scales and lies abound.

I have just received an email stating my line rental is due to increase 50p a month from October. As my contract runs from memory from November on then I'm hoping I can get out of the contract early and go to a more professional company even if it costs more.

So contract law, if a company increases it's price from memory the other party is permitted to exit the contract?

Not if there is a clause in the Terms and Conditions that states that 'prices may vary' AFAIK.
