Guernsey - employment/housing permits

Does anyone have any experience of getting a job and moving to Guernsey?

I have had a couple of interviews and it is looking promising, but the company are saying they have to await clearance from the Guernsey Authorities prior to being able to offer the role to a non-resident. This has been dragging on for a few weeks now, and wondered if anyone knew of the likely timescales involved with such a process?

Also assuming the above permit is granted, I will then have to apply for my own work/housing permit. Again, any indication how long this might take?

Any local knowledge or experiences would be much appreciated.

I moved over to the island nearly five years ago went through all the hoops re essential licence and housing control

also as a company we have obtained a number of licences
