<---------------------------------------> This much
I have always wanted a R34 GTR since Gran Tourismo 2 but, they are well out of my price range. I will probably get an E46 M3 but, was just wondering about the less desireable R34s.

I had a choice R34GTR in Bayside blue 1999 with 60k,It meant personally importing from Japan and leaving 4 months in my garage till it was 10 years old(avoiding SVA), or a 54 Plate Carbon black M3 I could see and have instantly with only 38k miles on, similar price in 2008.
I took the M3, but quite regret not going for the GTR, I would definatly of made money, but at the time it was a risk i wasnt prepared to take.

How much better is the R34 GTR over the R33 GTR? What's so different between them?
I'm interested in this as well, because from what I have briefly looked at, not much it seems.Trommel said:

I'm interested in this as well, because from what I have briefly looked at, not much it seems.The GTT/GTST is a different car than the GTR. It's not worse just different. It's RWD and more chuckable but not the out and out monster than the GTR can become. Having said that, back in the day some GTST's did do faster laps around certain circuits in Japan than the GTR's in tuner battles.
For what it's worth I think my modded GTST is a better driving experience over a stock GTR but it doesn't have the w
k factor of course.

I did and i am a fan of the standard wheels!A dagger to my heart! I even removed the gay box and it wasn't enough for you was it!
Anyway I had the whole R33 Gtr vs R34 GTT issue last year when in the end I bought the R34. My reasons were to do with looks and condition.
Most of the R33 Gtrs I saw were a bit tired, a bit patchy with history and you could see they had a hard life. However I looked at some R32 gtrs and most of those were total dogs. My R34 was a lucky find as it has full history from Japan for the huge mileage of about 12k miles from new which you could tell wasn't fake since it was like a new car.
So I could of gotten an older gtr but would have questions about the history and the old RB26 engine issue of spinning bearings which I wouldn't know if it had happened and been done or was a rebuild soon to come or I could buy the GTT for about the same price which was like buying a new car.
Also there is the looks thing. Both the R32 and R33 look their age inside and I am not a fan of the jellymould R33 so getting a car with a more modern looking interior as well as a very aggressive external look was also a consideration. Sure the interior is never going to be like that in a BMW or Merc but it is functional.
As for the R34 gtr vs the R33 gtr well the prices talk for themselves. Could I afford one? Sure if I wanted to make sacrifices else where but at the moment the gtt provides me with enough amusement.
