Why are Plod allowed 2 weeks to get a NIP to you?
Can any of you lot remember who/where/how fast you were driving 2 weeks ago?
What's the point in a 2 week old ticket - has it made you any safer? or have you another 39 NIPS in the post?
Justice should be instant - not deferred!
While I'm raving, how can SCP's ever have the moral high ground? visible deterrants are proven to save lives, hidden cameras can't. If a SCP is truly honest for once, they'd go genuinely hi-vis, not this pretend reflective paint they use (I think illegally).
Stil can't understand how driving at XXmph in an XXmph limit on the wrong side of the road is safer than doing XX+10 on the correct side! yet we're supposed to beleive that a camera can promote safety?????

The 14 day rule has existed for decades. It was conceived long before the concept of automated prosecutions, guilty until proven innocent and you must confess otherwise we will fine you more than for the original alleged offence. In those days, getting a postal NIP at all would be very rare, far less the prospect of several resulting from the one journey.

Can't you say the same about any unlawful act?
I'm sure I would remember raping, murdering, etc. for a good few years - unless it was my 'other me'!
However, asking if I was speeding, at X:XX time, in YYY village, on ZZZ date is a bit confusing as I leave work at different times every day, and the drive home depends what mood I am in and what the weather's like.
Can you remember what time your train went through a certain station (not you departure or arrival time) this morning! All I could say on the tube this morning was that I left the hotel at 7:50 and got into work at 8:35 - don't know what time the train went through Hammersmith station though.
If someone was to ask me if I was on the tube that went through Hammersmith at 8:05 then I couldn't in all honesty say yes, I could say possibly, or probably, but that is not proof.
A lot of drivers just assume that as they speed quite frequently that they probably were speeding at X, in Y on Z date and just bend over and pucker up - I assume the police rely on the fact that most people won't remember the exact details and so don't want the bother of trying to challenge it.
Personally if I am not given proof of my offence then I must assume it didn't happen!

Of course, that should be obvious but how do you apply

um, 2 weeks is nothing.
We are in the process of appealing a red-light camera (situation was it was much safer to pass through amber than to stop. Lights changed to red as I passed through and the time is rounded up to 1 second of red light), it took 3 weeks to get an automated "we are looking into it" response and it's been 2months since that came...
At this juncture one is assuming that it has been forgotten about (highly unlikey I grant), but it still plays on my mind.

mate,i got done as i went past one after being carved up by a truck and nearly sent into the opposing lane of the 127 right ontop of the lights,i was 1.2 secs after the red and 'suprise, suprise, the scamera f**ks at billaricay 'couldnt see the offending lorry' in the pictures' so wouldnt drop the case.....cnuts!.
I'm guessing it's the going to be the same with me eventually, the taxi stopped...
What actually happened was he was swerving between the no-car lane and the car lane on Byker Bridge. I slowed for the 30 limit, he continued at 40mph and came right up close. Lights went amber, road was wet and I went through and was flashed.
Typical.
We shall see, it's putting me through hell waiting for the response tho

tbh, I doubt I am. They won't have the taxi on camera, I know they won't (nothing else goes right for me...).
We shall see, but thanks for the good luck. How long did it take yours to come back?
it took about a fortnight, billaricay arent known for their speed.....its all the inbreeding!!
