Hello MercedHeads !

(Hope this is not "old news" to you)

Two weeks ago I was at the Hockenheim Quartermile and a white SL rolled into the beams.
I was not expecting much, but this coupe was running low 11s, about 2sec faster than I thought.

It turned out to be an MKB 1000 on its first outing and yes, the 1000 stands for horsepower.

Here is the official press release :

I am not affiliated with MKB, I was the "astonished announcer" mentioned in the text
and thought a 230 mph car that looked not too chavy could be of PH interest.

If you look at the quoted 0-62mph time of 3.6, it's only 0.2 second quicker than standard - something Brabus quote for their Black Series upgrade, rated at 811bhp.

I would say they aren't able to get all the power onto the road, assuming that 0-62 time isn't conservative, and assuming they were giving it the beans on the quarter mile.

I'm surprised, too, though that there hasn't been much mention of it!

For a car of 1880 kilos and 1014bhp AT the wheels [That is 1300 bhp!!!702 bhp per ton!!].

Their performance figures do not make sense.
