Finding a job in Canada

After a recent holiday, I am looking at possible relocation options to Canada. I have been a British citizen all my life and currently work in the UK.
Does anyone have any tips on how I should go about the relocation process? It seems easy enough to apply for a work visa, but how do I get a job without one? Or how do I get a visa without a job offer? Or is it a case of move out there first, and then find a job once you are there?
I want to minimise risk, so would ideally like to find a job whilst in the UK, and then go about moving.
I am looking for a job in the sales and marketing sector. I am a recent graduate but have a year of solid experience under my belt.
Any advice would be much appreciated, particularly from those who have been in my position.

My brother is currently going through this, and from what I can remember:
a) Its very hard to get a job whilst over here unless you have a specialist skill. He's a chemical engineer and is still struggling 3 months on.
b) Be prepared to fly out for interview's and not land a job.
c) There is a points system but with a degree you should qualify.
d) It will take much longer than you expect! My brother is three months down the path and has now decided to not wait for a job and simply move out there on a 12month working visa and apply for jobs whilst over there.
This option is fine provided you have either the savings to last a year or are willing to work at bars, etc to pay your way.
Also factor in you may struggle to get a loan over there even if you have perfect credit rating over here - and a car really is a must, as i'm sure you know.
I'm a similar age to yourself and looked at making the move to the US last year based on a job offer but bottled it - so I'm slightly jealous but wish you all the best!
