My mk2 Escort, what will I do with it?

I've had it around 10 years, it's spent the bulk of that time shut up in a shed, uncared for and feeling unloved.

My original intention was to break it and build a Locost 7 thing but then I went to travel the world for a few years and it remained a whole car.

So, what to do with it? It's a beige 4 door, 1.6 engine. I wasn't bothered about spec when I got it due to my intended use so a beige 4 door suited my needs just fine.

My three options...
A) break it and see my very long-term project through.
B) restore and sell.
C) just flog it as is.

I have no idea how much a beige 1.6 4 door Ghia would sell for but I can't see it being desireable to the rally boys who are really the only sizeable market for 30 year old Escorts.

Oh, I don't know, all suggestions welcome.

Sell it as it is. I think you'd be surprised with the demand there is for complete and salvagable mk2s.

Get it on Ebay, two doors are very expensive so a four door gives the same experience for a bit less money, I think it will still realise a decent price given that really crumbly mk1 and 2 2 doors go for silly money.

Also, its a Ghia, its not all Mexico's and RS2000's that everybody wants, there will be someone out there wanting to restore that specific model or stick a YB in it and keep it looking standard for a Retro Sleeper.

Not sure what the possibilities are for converting it to 2 door, I think the rooflines and doors are different but these days, nothing surprises me !

My first car was a white Mk2 1600 ghia and I'd get another one at some point in the future, but there are not that many about, so that helps with it's value now. There is this one for sale in the classifieds.....

you'd be surprised how miuch its worth.

and there are a few people using the 4 door shells in rallying due to cost and shortage of good 2 dr shells.

There is a mint Silver mk2 1.6 Ghia currently for sale @ £5.5k on a couple of sites! 4 doors have rocketed in price recently due to the same happening with 2 doors.

Sell it as is. Beige is very much a fashionable colour atm and if its in fair nick you would be pleasantly surprised at what it will fetch!
