Alternative to a Audi TT 3.2

A mate is determined to get a Audi TT 3.2....

He wants at least a 2+2 budget approx 20k so far i'm going to suggest

M5 if a few more £ spent or a late E39 saving a few
VXR8
Maserati (he is worried about it breaking)


I think he has already decided against a 350Z and i'm steering clear of Scooby type


Any other ideas pls ?

Nothing at all wrong with either model TT.

I prefer GT tourers to out and out racers and the TT fits the bill.

Comfortable, sensible and fast enough. Looks st in a couple of angles but the best quality interior from all the roadsters (mk1 gen)

Just agree with him that it is a great car, if he doesn't catch on then let him buy it. I am sure the TT is a good car but this is PH and we all feel hell bent on suggesting something far more interesting even if the engine could go pop!

The best newish car for that money has got to be a 987 boxster s, miles ahead of a tt.

I'd even take the 2.7 boxster over the audi.

Since when did a Boxster, or as some suggest a 350z, become a 2+2?
