Low & loud jet over Edinburgh this morning?

At around 6.50 this morning I heard a very low jet going over the house (Trinity)

Sounded much louder and lower than normal traffic into the airport

Anyone know what it was?

they have been flying over parts of Edinburgh in a couple of what i believe are Eurofighters for the last couple of weeks now. the sound fantastic. I live out by the Edinburgh Airport so we get them really low.

I think this is to provide some sort of fly-by when dignatories are visiting the festival. Someone must have been here today as I saw lots of police escorts and armed security police in some areas.

There is a tornado flypast as part of each tattoo performance, but that doesn't explain the OP's 0650 mystery.....

Only a handful of the performances this year. One more is expected on Wednesday.
