Advice on selling my car

Ok so i have had my golf mk4 GTI up for sale for the last 8 weeks? I've not even had so much as a sniff 
Its a 99/V GTI Turbo 3-door in blue/grey, recaro heated seats, ac, sunroof, headlamp washers and the usual GTI spec. almost 115k miles, Vw main dealer history up to 51k then nothing (which i know is a put off)
I've just had it MOT'd, its got a months tax, i've had the bushes, wheel bearing and the brakes stripped down and cleaned just last week.
It has been previously damaged, listed as cat D, i have pics of the damage before it was repaired. BUT due to this i felt i had priced it accordingly at £1700. I had the whole car checked over and the cambelt has been replaced although i'm not sure exactly when but i've even offered to have that replaced for an extra £100.
I'd really appreciate some feedback, I dont want to give it away as i cant afford to but i would like it to sell. Is it too expensive even at £1700??
