Workshop space

Hello Everyone..

I have bought a 1981 Merc 380 SL which I believed to be fundamentally sound .. then found out I'd been rather expertly done over by the elderly seller..my fault for not getting the car professionally checked over. Turns out the car has a fair bit of rust on wheel arch skins and a few other rust related issues. I can't do the welding so am getting someone to do the main bits but to save money I will finish off where I can and do some other jobs myself.

Thing is I need a dry space with a little room and electricity and in my part of town that seems hard to get hold of..
I live in south west London (Putney). Does anyone has any space they can rent me in a warehouse or workshop or garage(with electricity and enough room to work on the car), or is anyone interested in finding somewhere that we can share? if you have any suggestions it would be much appreciated (even of where i should be looking). It needs to be fairly close by as I have no other car and need to get there fairly easily by tube or train..

What about PitStart, they're a self service garage, a bit out of your way, up by where the M40 turns into the A40, but it is at least an option.

Interesting option, the problem is cost, at 800 pounds a month its not exactly cheap.. I don't really need the tools so will call to see how cheap it can be without but for the kind of money they want I could rent some arches here in Putney. I think they are more designed for short term work, a few hours here and there, then they make sense.

Yeah, I think that is what they are aiming it at, but if you can do it on weekends on and off it could be economical.

I'm not too far away from Putney at all. From my research £600/£700 a month will get an arch unit

i know of a lockup with electricity etc available its in isleworth nr richmond £130 month, its a large sized lock up, not big enough for 2 cars but big enough to work on one, safe and dry.
