Three 6 nils in one weekend! It's getting like level 10 of the football pyramid. Is the gulf between PL teams getting that wide?

When is anyone decent playing Wigan next?frown
For some reason, Wigan really do seem to go to pieces once the opposition are on a roll & have no fight whatsoever. To have it happen once every now & again is bearable. To have it happen with regularity is distinctly worrying!

Has there never been ten goals scored by one team in a PL game?

Who has the record currently?

Man Utd beat Ipswich 9-0 in 94/95 season

I can't think of a 10-0 in a Premier fixture.

But this might be worth a tenner at william hill for this season

Yeah no 10's yet, been a couple of 9's as mentioned, also a few 8's with Chelsea last season and Newcastle against Sheff w a few years ago. Chelsea and Man U in their games against Pool must have a good chance. Tbh surprised Arsenal didn't get a couple more, Chamakh missed a sitter and Theo could've had at least 1 more.

The most attacking team in English football won 9-0 in 1989 in the top flight. If they couldn't get a 10-0 then no team can.

Incidentally the same club have the record in the Champions League too, 8-0.

Sounds like it should have been 10-0 at Elland Road on Saturday, Cliff.

I know they've not had a great 12 months or so, but I doubt even Chelsea in their current form will put 10 past the scousers... wink

As long as Aston villa isn't involved (we would definately be on the recieving end)It would be good to see.

The gulf between attacking players and defenders is getting wider, so when a team falls apart and goes a couple of goals down chasing the game gets even riskier.

I don't think it will be long before it happens, just hope It's birmingham stty on the losing teambiggrin

Well quite. Not sure of Jacket Potato Head's claim that it was our cup final, but I reckon after the last few seasons' results against Millwall, the lads were really up for it. Good luck for the rest of the season (until April anyway).

When Man City played Burnley away last season I genuinely believe if the massive downpour hadnt come then City would have hit double figures.

Dont forget that one of the '6-0' results was a promoted team beating a team that finished in the top 6 (Ahead of Liverpool)
