PH is responsible for changing so many things in my life!
Easily led? I don't know - I like to call it "Well researched"
So I bought this on a bit of chance from the 'Bay for £1800 (1.6 Eunos)- at that price I'm sure there must be something wrong, but he runs really well, appears to have a new'ish Mohair hood.
Usual 10 y/o bumps and scrapes, but he makes me happy.
As far as I'm concerned all he needs is a polish, a good run out (preferably to the Highlands for a whisky tour and drive)
Basically - WoW!

Being old, and all that, I would like to add that he reminds me a bit of when I was 18 and the lads with a bit of cash let us drive there Ford Capri,..... maybe thats just the ramblings of a drunkard, but y'now what I mean.

Looks very good for the money!
It's not actually a Eunos though. JDM Mk1 was called Eunos Roadster as Eunos was a sub-brand of Mazda in Japan a bit like Lexus being a sub-brand of Toyota. Mk2 was never branded Eunos though so is just Mazda Roadster wink

I did the same thing this weekend !!

Bought this for a bit of fun for around £3k:

Apparently it is running around 220hp, I drove it back from Manchester to Gloucester and it was bloody brilliant ! Took it out for a another spin around the Cotswolds and had a right laugh. Seems very well set up, good smooth delivery of power and goes like a rocket.

Bucket Seats are not very comfy and need replacing (anyone any suggestions - do want bucket still), and the dip headlight switch needs replacing. Apart from that all is well.

Insurance £500 (declaring all mods) which includes 4 track days.

I have come from an Ariel Atom (sold due to lack of cash), and it is a great, cheap replacement.

Looks a good laugh, but that intake will get a tad warm! Should see a power increase just from rigging up some sort of cold air duct.

I have a Momo T-frame bucket in mine which is pretty good (and bolts straight onto factory rails so you don't lost the adjustment), though I'll add some kind of lumbar cushion for the next long trip in it.

I'm quite amazed that coming from an Atom 2, you are not feeling somewhat underwhelmed by the MX5.

And I say this as an MX5 owner smile

That look interesting! What's with the bonnet humps?

Atom to MX5, yes a big jump but still great fun and it is all relative - Atom Cost £32k, MX5 cost £3k!

Bonnet humps do have holes cut beneath the bonnet for air flow, not sure how much difference they make.

The turbo does have an inter-cooler, would you still suggest another cold air feed for the air intake? The bonnet hump does sit above the intake, and I have seen a heat shimmer coming out of it !

Will have a look at the seat - Thanks

I usually figure the colder the intake air the better! Might be fine if its drawing through the bonnet vent though. For reference heres a photo that sortof shows mine (I see your turbo pipework would stop you using the same intake setup though) - you can just see the filter on the right, then its ducted behind that heatshielding to a hole behind where the washer bottle usually sits as there is an aerodynamic high-pressure zone behind there.
